Senior Accountant

Firebrand Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a full-time, remote position within our Finance team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex and varied accounting duties, with a strong technical aptitude and expertise in Excel. Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role. This is an extremely fast-paced environment with an amazing opportunity for the right candidate to thrive.

As a Senior Accountant, you’ll have the opportunity to work across a wide range of areas within a complex organizational structure. You’ll collaborate with a team of supportive professionals in a unique, niche industry, providing you with the chance to make a significant impact.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist in strengthening and establishing internal controls, policies and guidelines related to all areas of the department.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiencies.
  • Prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns.
  • Prepare financial reports for taxes, audits and regulatory agencies
  • Manage all general ledger transactions.
  • Participate in the month-end and year-end close process, including adjusting journal entries and reporting.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Handle daily cash flow management.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and billing.
  • Collaborate with leadership across the organization to ensure established accounting procedures are understood and adhered to.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with complex reconciliations and financial transactions.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite.
  • A strong working knowledge of corporate taxes, sales taxes, and corporate structures.
  • Proficiency in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align  financial  decisions with the company’s overall objectives.
  • The ability to develop strong working relationships across departments and at all seniority levels.
  • The ability to effectively explain complex financial concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent critical thinking and communication skills High attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience with VAT and foreign currencies.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
  • Experience with GSuite, SmartSheet, and QuickBooks.
  • Experience working in a fully remote organization.
