Technical Customer Support Analyst, Eloquence on Demand

We’re seeking an experienced Technical Customer Support Analyst who possesses the ability to assess, prioritize, and resolve client feedback in a courteous, professional, and timely manner. This is a customer service role.

A general sense of pride and accountability for work are necessary to become successful in this position, as is the desire to meet high-quality standards. Our clients are dear to us and we go above and beyond to make sure their needs are met.

The ideal candidate will embrace this philosophy and do their best to help publishers succeed. This will entail a combination of investigative work into why a process didn’t go as expected, thorough documentation of each issue’s resolution, troubleshooting problems with industry trading partners and clients, and creating tools to help our team’s workflow be more efficient and automated. You’ll excel if you’re someone who enjoys sleuthing out the cause of data issues and anomalies, are able to work off of hints, and enjoy writing documentation.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop a deep understanding of Firebrand Technologies’ applications, particularly Eloquence on Demand (EOD), the book publishing industry’s gold standard for implementing ONIX and maximizing control of how data reaches the marketplace
  • Assess, prioritize, and resolve client issues in a courteous, professional, and timely manner
  • Investigate reported issues, working with Firebrand Technologies’ support staff, to understand the full scope and resolution of issues
  • Write technical summaries of resolutions for our case management system and/or internal documentation
  • Perform QA on both new and existing processes
  • Expand internal documentation and departmental workflows
  • Contribute to our growing internal documentation library, and find opportunities for process improvements

Human Resources Manager, Shared Services

We’re seeking a tactful, empathetic, and thoughtful Human Resources Manager to oversee our companies’ 100 employees. The ideal candidate will gracefully keep the companies in legal compliance while taking an employee-first view of the job. The ability to bring creative ideas to the development of programs that support company culture will be favored, as will strong integrity and ethics.

The preferred candidate will live close enough to work in our Newburyport, Massachusetts office 1-2 days per week. Limited outside travel may also be required.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Oversee and refine employee standards and procedures, using existing HR systems as well as improved or recommended processes
  • Maintain and enhance employee benefits programs, including compensation, health insurance, 401(k) with employer match, expense reimbursement, life insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, and PTO
  • Process payroll, bonuses, and other types of compensation
  • Assist with recruitment efforts; oversee the interviewing and hiring of new staff
  • Prepare new employees for their assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs

We’re seeking an experienced Accounting Manager who possesses the ability to conduct a wide variety of intricate and complex accounting duties and projects. The ideal candidate will be savvy in Excel, have excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to create and maintain a team-oriented environment. The ability to review and analyze current processes for potential improvements will be favored, as will strong integrity and ethics.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist in the establishment of internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation
  • Assist with audits and taxes
  • Process payroll
  • Prepare financial reports for taxes and regulatory agencies

  • Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
