Application Support Analyst – Entry Level (Newburyport, MA)

We are currently seeking an entry level Application Support Analyst to join the support team to evaluate, prioritize, and actively resolve client help requests in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Interact with clients in a positive, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Respond quickly to client needs.
  • Manage list of incoming cases and assign as necessary to the appropriate resource.
  • Reproduce reported issues and work with clients to further understand issues as needed.
  • Perform technical research such as code review or database queries as needed.
  • Accurately define issues in the case management system before assigning cases.
  • Track progress of cases in case management system.
  • Through training develop mastery of Firebrand Technologies applications.
  • Work with the Development and Integration teams on escalated case resolution.
  • Communicate updates and case statuses to clients and management.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer service while building customer partnerships.
  • Ability to work occasionally on nights and weekends.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable with Excel and/or Access
  • Familiarity with MSSQL is a plus
  • Ability to effectively use a reporting tool such as Crystal or SSRS is a plus

SQL Developer/Analyst (Newburyport, MA)

The Firebrand Technologies Integration Team is looking for a motivated, ambitious, and tenacious SQL guru. We specialize in getting new publishing clients’ title data into our Title Management application, as well as build and support tools that help us do this as efficiently as possible. As a new member of the team, you’ll be managing your own project queue while under the tutelage of more senior members.

We are interested in a developer who understand the process of software development, including the importance of development, test, and production environments, and responsibilities inherent in each. If you consider winding your way through several layers of code and hitting some land mines along the way a good time, then we want to work with you. We encourage creativity and ingenuity and hope you can teach us a few tricks of your own, when appropriate.

A general sense of pride and accountability in your work are necessary to become successful in this position, as is the desire to meet high quality standards. Our clients are very dear to us and we go above and beyond to make sure that their needs are met. Our small team has the luxury of working outside of strict engineering guidelines but needs to remain disciplined and conscious of the big picture. The candidate will work out of the office located in Newburyport, MA.

  • Work on multiple projects as assigned by the Director of Integration

  • Occasional short-term trips to client offices in New York City and other U.S. locations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 to 5 years experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL server databases and T-SQL programming is required
  • Experience with web design and related technologies, such as ASP.NET, C#, and Visual Studio, is a plus
  • Experience with Crystal Reports is a plus

Software Quality Assurance Specialist (Newburyport, MA)

Firebrand Technologies is looking for a team-oriented Software Quality Assurance Specialist who understands the critical nature of manual, regression, and automation testing and makes every reasonable effort to achieve expectations and/or provide acceptable workarounds. Effective communication skills and the ability to adjust to changes and handle multiple tasks will be essential to your success in this role. The position is located in our Newburyport, MA office. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Uncover, document, and track product defects
  • Design, write, and execute test cases using established test design techniques
  • Build and monitor test environments
  • Log status into tracking software
  • Act as product technical liaison between support and development teams
  • Communicate effectively with customers
  • Ensure that releases adhere to a high standard of quality
  • Coordinate with internal departments to deliver seamless services to external customers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or similar discipline
  • Familiarity with MSSQL
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze complex relationships and configurations and summarize results clearly
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to quickly learn a robust software application
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • Experience with Agile development practices is a plus
