Increasing Amazon Reviews Through Early Buzz on NetGalley
In early 2017 Firebrand Research Labs conducted a study on the benefits of using NetGalley to generate book reviews. We started with the hypothesis that books that are listed on NetGalley receive more Amazon reviews, but that assertion required some in-depth data crunching. We worked with a team of researchers at George Mason University, looking at recent books, those that were within 60 days of their publication date, and controlling for differences between publishers.
What we found was impressive: The mean number of Amazon reviews on a publisher’s titles increases by 146% when using NetGalley.
